Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al-Saduq narrated that his father narrated from Sa’d ibn AbdiAllah, from Ibrahim ibn Hashim that Ahmad ibn Sulaiman said:
A man asked Imam Kadhim (pbuh) while he was performing tawaaf around the Kaaba, saying to him, ‘Tell me about al-Jawad (The Generous).’
He replied: ‘Your question has two possibilities.
If you are asking about the creatures, then Generous is he who fulfills what Allah has obligated upon him, and miser is he who withholds what Allah has obligated upon him.
But if you mean the Creator, then He is The Generous whether He gives or withholds, because if He gives to a servant, He gives him something he does not possess, and if He withholds, He withholds something He does not possess.
